Certification according to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 50001:2018 and ISO 45001:2018 was carried out and confirmed by the certification company TÜV Nord Adriatic d.o.o. As one of the largest production companies in Croatia, and in view of the industy to which it belongs, as well as the number of people it employs, HEP-Proizvodnja d.o.o. also adopted the Quality, Environment, Energy and Occupational Health and Safety Management Policy (PDF), opting to produce electricity and heat in an energy-efficient manner with the application of best available techniques, as well as the development of existing and construction of new plants with the aim of increasing the share of electricity and heat output on the regional market based on sustainability, high quality of products and services, environmentally friendly production, energy efficiency while taking adequate care of occupational health and safety.
Hrvatska elektroprivreda d.d. became the owner of the certificate of integrated quality, environment, energy, occupational health and safety system according to international standards ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 50001:2018 and ISO 45001:2018. Simultaneously, HEP Upravljanje imovinom d.o.o. (HEP – Asset Management) was also certified in the business activities forming an integral whole with HEP d.d., according to international standards ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 50001:2018 and ISO 45001:2018. Along with other system documents required by the standards, HEP d.d.’s Management Board adopted the umbrella document – Quality, Environment Protection, Energy, Occupational Health and Safety Management Policy for HEP d.d. and HEP Upravljanje imovinom d.o.o. (PDF), which expresses commitment to maintaining and permanently improving the integrated management system. As part of the certification process, through 85 days of workshops, a total of 87 employees were certified, namely 54 internal auditors and 33 lead auditors. Hrvatska elektroprivreda d.d. and HEP-Upravljanje imovinom d.o.o. are owners of the IT security management system certificate according to ISO 27001:2013.
Customer relations department of HEP-Opskrba d.o.o. (HEP-Supply) was the first in Croatia to receive a certificate for service quality as a result of its exceptional commitment and a high level of service provided. ISO 9001:2015 recertification procedure was conducted for the fourth time (Bureau Veritas certification company) in 2021, which continues to confirm the quality of its Customer Relations.
The protection of health and safety of workers, preservation of the environment and efficient energy management are all part of the business strategy of HEP-Operator distribucijskog sustava d.o.o. (HEP ODS) (HEP-Distribution System Operator). The environment management system according to the international standard ISO 14001 was the first management system certified for 21 distribution areas and HEP ODS’s headquarters back in 2013. In 2018, a transition of this system to the new ISO 14001: 2015 standard was carried out successfully. The Occupational Health and Safety Management System was established in 2015, and in 2017, it was for the first time, successfully certified according to OHSAS 18001: 2007. The transition of this system to demanding ISO 45001:2018 requirements was carried out successfully in 2019. The key commitment of HEP ODS, when it comes to energy management, is the achievement of permanent energy performances in all business facilities, equipment and machines, including the reduction of losses in the distribution network through the implemented energy management system according to ISO 50001:2018, which has been confirmed by the TÜV NORD Adriatic d.o.o. certificate.
In October 2021, HEP Toplinarstvo (HEP District Heating) successfully completed the recertification of the quality and environment protection system as well as the certification of the energy management system in accordance with ISO 90001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 50001:2018.
Certified green energy is produced in 26 hydropower plants owned by HEP, which account for more than a half of the production capacity of the Croatian electric power system.
All HEP's hydropower plants have a TÜV SÜD certificate for the production of electricity from renewable sources - green energy.
