Non-integrated solar power plants

1 MW Kaštelir solar power plant, located at Sabadin in the municipality of Kaštelir-Labinci in Istria, became the first non-integrated solar power plant in the HEP's portfolio after its acquisition in 2019. The annual output of Kaštelir 1 is 1.2 million kWh. It is HEP's only incentivized solar power plant.

2 MW Kaštelir 2 solar power plant, the second phase of the Kaštelir solar power plant project built at the same location, has been in regular operation since 2021. Its average annual output of electricity is 2.2 million kWh. 9,240 photovoltaic modules manufactured by domestic Solvis from Varaždin have been installed on the surface area of about 40,000 m2. The investment value amounted to 2 million euro.

Vis solar power plant was put into operation in 2020. This 3.5 MW plant is located on the Griževa glavica hill near Žena Glava. 11,200 photovoltaic modules with the capacity of 340 Wp were installed, as well as five 720 kW frequency converters mounted, manufactured by domestic Končar, HEP's partner in this project. Its average annual output of electricity exceeds 4.5 million kWh, which meets demand of about 1,500 households. The value of this investment was 4.2 million euro. A battery energy storage tank has been installed next to the solar power plant. The 1MW battery tank with the capacity of 1.44 MWh is used to provide balancing services of the electric power system and preserve the stability of the network on the island. The value of the investment is 2.3 million euro.

1 MW Marići solar power plant  was built on the surface area of 18,000 m2 in the municipality of Žminj in Istria. It became operational in 2021. Its average annual output of electricity is 1.3 million kWh. The investment value is 1.2 million euro. 4,092 photovoltaic modules manufactured by Solvis were installed.

2.1 MW Kosore Jug (Vrlika) solar power plant was put in regular operation in 2021. It was built in the southern part of the Kosore Business Zone in the town of Vrlika. Its average annual output is 3.5 million kWh. The investment value is 1.5 million euro.

2.5 MW Stankovci solar power plant, has been in regular operation since 2022. It was built in the Stankovci Industrial Zone in Zadar County on the surface area of 65,217 m2. Its average annual output of electricity of 4.5 million kWh is sufficient for the supply of 1,500 households. 9,920 photovoltaic modules manufactured by Solvis with total installed capacity of 3.27 MW was mounted. The investment value is 3.5 million euro.

Obrovac solar power plant has been in regular operation since 2022. It was erected in the former alumina plant on the surface area of 117,137 m2. Its connection capacity is 7.35 MW while its installed capacity amounts to 8.7 MW due to 27,544 installed photovoltaic modules manufactured by Solvis. Its average annual electricity output of about 11.2 million kWh will meet demand of over 3,500 households. The investment value is 6.9 million euro.

Donja Dubrava solar power plant was erected next to Dubrava Hydropower Plant in the municipality of Sveta Marija in Međimurje County and put into operation in 2023. Its installed capacity amounts to 12.35 MW, while its maximum connection capacity is 9.99 MW. With an average annual production of 15.5 million kWh, emissions of 167,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide will be avoided over 30 years of its operation. The investment value is 7.7 million euro.

Jambrek solar power plant with connection capacity of 4.99 MW is built in the municipality of Vinica within Varaždin County. The expected annual output of this EUR 6.1 million investment is 6.8 million kWh. The process of obtaining a usage permit is underway.

Črnkovci solar power plant  was built in the business zone of the Črnkovci settlement in the municipality of Marijanci, near Donji Miholjac. Its trial operation started in January 2025. The power plant will have a maximum connection capacity of 8.5 MW, or 11.33 MW of installed capacity, with an expected annual output of 13 million kWh. The investment value is 7.7 million euro.
 
Radosavci solar power plant was built in the area of the Radosavci settlement, in the town of Slatina. Its connection capacity is 9.99 MW, while the installed capacity amounts to 13.2 MW. 40,040 photovoltaic modules manufactured by Solvis have been installed. The value of the investment is 11.1 million euro. The process of connecting the power plant to the grid is underway.

Dugopolje solar power plant, installed capacity of 13.54 MW and connection capacity of 10 MW, is being built on the territory of the municipality of Dugopolje in Split-Dalmatia County. The expected annual output of 17.2 million kWh meets the demand of about 6,000 households. On the area of about 200,000 m2, 24,624 bifacial photovoltaic modules will be installed and connected to 52 three-phase exchangers. The investment value is 11.1 million euro.

Čakovec solar power plant, with the installed capacity of 11.024 MW and the connection capacity of 8.5 MW, is under construction. The expected annual output is 12.7 million kWh.

Lipik solar power plant, with connection capacity of 5 MW, is  built on the area of the Lipik Business Zone III. The expected annual production of 7.1 million kWh per year corresponds to the demand of more than 2,000 households. The value of the investment is 4.2 million euro.

Unije solar power plant, with the connection capacity of 1 MW, is built on the island of Unije in the jurisdiction of ​​the town of Mali Lošinj. The expected annual output is 1.3 million kWh, while the investment value is 1.4 million euro.

Korlat solar power plant, with the connection capacity of 75 MW, is built on the location of the existing Korlat power plant near Benkovac. More information here.

Cres solar power plant will be built on the Orlec Trinket East location, 2 kilometres north from Orlec on the island of Cres. Its connection capacity will amount to 6.5 MW.
