ISO 14001 to TE-TO Zagreb CHP plant

17.02.2006.
Yesterday, at the ceremony for the occasion, TE-TO Zagreb cogeneration plant was awarded the certificate ISO 14000:2004 which is related to environmental protection. Thereby HEP has for the first time successfully certified one of its plants to this standard, for the largest thermal power plant in Croatia.

The certification audit was carried out in December 2005 by the international certification firm BVQI. Ivan Mravak, President of HEP Management Board, said that this achievement is a result of the systematic environmental policy implemented by HEP on a continuous basis.
The obtaining of the certificate, he added, is a result of a one-year joint work by HEP Development Department, which led and supervised the project, APO, responsible for consulting and documentation, and TE-TO Zagreb CHP where the system was implemented.
The certifying will continue in other power plants and expand to other business activities in order for HEP to meet high European standards in environmental protection, said I. Mravak. By implementing this pilot project TE-TO Zagreb established a functional environmental management system, consisting of precisely defined procedures run and overseen by specially trained experts.
