Works begin on Ernestinovo-Pecs transmission line

Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader marked on October 6, 2008 the start of construction work on the overhead transmission line 2 x 400 kV Ernestinovo – Pecs, section Ernestinovo – state border with Hungary.

This continues the process defined in the Construction Contract made between HEP OPS and the Hungarian transmission system operator MAVIR ZRt. on July 12, 2007, requiring both parties to build this international power line. March 2010 was set as the latest date until which the transmission line should be built and put into operation. The Contract provides for the construction of the section 2 x 400 kV Ernestinovo - Pecs in the territory of Croatia of 44.1 km and the expansion of TS 400/110 kV Ernestinovo. The construction cost of the transmission line, which is being built by Dalekovod d.d. on the Croatian side, and of expansion of TS 400/110 kV Ernestinovo is 159 million kuna. Besides the president of HEP Management Board Ivan Mravak and his team, the guests included Vice Prime Minister Vladimir Šeks, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of the Family, Veterans Affairs and Intergenerational Solidarity Jadranka Kosor, Finance Minister Ivan Šuker, members of the Parliament and state secretaries from the area, president of the Managing Council of the Croatian Energy Regulatory Agency Tomo Galić, president of the Assembly of Osijek-Baranja County Ivica Završki, Osijek mayor Gordan Matković, Ernestinovo municipal prefect Matija Greif and many others.
