Symposium on Power System Management in the sign of RES

In Cavtat, from November 9 to 12, the 8th Symposium on Power System Management was held, organized by five study committees (B5, C1, C2, C5 and D2) of CIGRE National Committee Croatia and under the patronage of Hrvatska Elektroprivreda.

The event gathered 475 participants, mostly from Croatia, and this professional and already traditional gathering was supported by 26 sponsors of which 19 exhibited their production programs. The working part of the Symposium consisted of 10 invited and 40 regular papers, divided into three preferential topics representing the present moment and future direction of information technologies in power system management, and legal and economic framework and environment for power companies and other entities in the open electricity market in Croatia and the region. The third topic was about the growing share of renewable energy sources in electricity production in particular and their initial implementation, wind farms in particular. Before the Symposium was formally opened, working meetings of some study committees were held and a press conference as well as a regular HRO CIGRE general meeting at which special notes of recognition were given to the thirteen most deserving members. Attending and greeting the participants at the formal opening was the esteemed guest from France George de Montravel, president of the international SC D2. On behalf of HEP Management Board, Stjepan Tvrdinić expressed best wishes for the success of the Symposium.
