In the process of selecting a strategic partner for
the construction and management of Plomin C thermal power plant, three bids
were submitted in late April 2014. Following the completion of the evaluation
first phase during which the project team checked and assessed compliance of
all three bids essential elements with tender requirements, the second phase
continued by starting the negotiating procedure with all three bidders. During
this procedure phase, conducted in line with the previously defined schedule,
an indepth analysis was carried out, explanations requested and obtained from
the bidders, several talks and a few site visits to the Plomin TPP location
conducted. In line with the activities conducted, requirements for bidders'
ranking by the project team have been met. The preferred bidder is Marubeni
from Japan, the second-ranked bidder is the Abeins and Daewoo Consortium, and
the third-ranked one is Edison.

their expressed interest in establishing a partnership relation with HEP for
the purpose of delivering this project of strategic importance', said Tomislav
Šerić, the President of the Management Board of HEP. 'We are extremely pleased
with the quality of all received bids which preparation was accompanied by
significant professional and financial resources'.
The procedure, conducted in line with the rules of
the International Competitive Negotiated Procedure, will be continued in a form
of negotiations with the prefereed bidder. HEP aims at completing these
negotiations by the end of this year and preparing the contracts to be signed
in early 2015.
