Ombla Hydropower Plant - Public information

On 11 March 2013, HEP published additional expert documentation regarding environmental protection for the Ombla Hydropower Plant Project on its web page.

The following documents are available here: Biodiversity Management Plan for the Ombla HPP Site and the Appropriate Assessment Study of the Project for the Environment (by WSP), which are the subject of public presentation, as well as drawn up input documentation for the development of the Biodevirsity Management Plan for the Ombla HPP site and the Appropriate Assessment Study of the Project for the Environment including: Impact Study of Ombla HPP for the Ecological network; Sectoral Impact Study of the Construction of Ombla HPP on Bat Fauna; Sectoral Impact Study of the Construction of Ombla HPP on Fish; Sectoral Impact Study of the Construction of Ombla HPP on Cave Fauna.

In view of the changes in environmental legislation compared to the period of issuing the Decision on Environmental Appropriate Assessment for Ombla Hydropower Plant, HEP as a socially responsible company has repeated research on the Ombla site, and in cooperation with EBRD agreed the design of supporting expert documentation.

Conducted research resulted in new environmental and nature protection measures which are presented to the public for the purpose of gathering comments and opinions. The 30-day process of public information will include the public presentation in Dubrovnik. The public will be informed of its time and venue by means of local media and HEP's web site. Questions, comments and objections with regard to the presented expert documentation can be submitted to the e-mail address ombla@hep.hr in the above stated 30-day period. Answers will be published on HEP's web page.
