Journalist Degenia Velebitica Award presented

The environmental journalist section of the Croatian Journalist Society and APO d.o.o., a HEP Group company, marked Earth Day by presenting Degenia Velebitica Award for the best environmental journalism, printed and broadcast.

This year’s ninth presentation of this prestigious award was organized in Šibenik Town Hall on April 21. In the presence of hospitable hosts, city and county officials, state secretary of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Physical Planning and Construction, Director of Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, numerous HEP’s representatives and a large number of journalists, Degenia Velebitica Award for last year, by decision of the Award Committee, went to: Marina Bujan, HINA – best text in print, Dubravka Družinec Ricijaš, Croatian Radio II – best radio reporting and Snježana Babić, Croatian Radio and Television – best television reporting.

As part of marking Earth Day, a roundtable was held on the development of power plants and facilities in Croatia and environmental protection. The opening address was given by the academician Božo Udovičić, followed by speeches by Nikola Ružinski, State Secretary of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Vinko Mladineo, Director of Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, Josip Lebegner, Assistant Director of the Directorate for Corporate Development and Strategy, Ante Despot, a member of HEP Management Board, Alfredo Višković, HEP’s Department of Strategic Planning and Sustainable Development, and Zoran Stanić, HEP Obnovljivi izvori d.o.o. The moderators were Prof. Paula Durbešić and the journalist Željko Bukša.
