Info day about the program "Intelligent energy in Europe"

Opening the meeting, Dr. Željko Tomšić, Assistant Minister of Economy, Labor and Entrepreneurship, said that renewable energy sources are very popular in Europe and that Croatia`s objective is to produce more than 5% of energy from renewable sources by 2010.

He also expressed his satisfaction with the number of companies registered for participation in this program. "I wish you would start today to detail the program with full enthusiasm", he said.
Based on the contest, potential proposal makers such as local or regional institutions, non-governmental organizations, scientific and research institutions but also those from business communities in Croatia have the opportunity to participate in the program established for the purpose of developing and implementing actions in the area of utilization of energy and renewable energy sources.
This contest, for which 48.1 million euros are available, will last until October 31 and the selected projects will be co-financed by EU non-repayable funds covering 50 percent of the investment value.
