Highest daily consumption ever in Croatia

13.01.2009.
A new maximum electricity consumption was attained in Croatia yesterday in the winter season 2008/2009, amounting to 61,113 MWh, which is 1,014 MWh more than this season’s record registered on January 9.

The highest hourly load registered between 5 pm and 6 pm was 3,003 MW, which is 31 MW more compared to last Friday. Yesterday’s consumption is also the highest electricity consumption ever registered in Croatia. The previous maximum daily consumption registered on December 18, 2007 was 61,099 MWh. The functioning of Croatian electricity system has been stable.

Hrvatska Elektroprivreda has sufficient fuels and sufficient contract quantities of electricity from import as well as generating plants to meet current domestic electricity needs, and a sufficient system reserve in case of further increase in electricity consumption. Therefore, we expect normal electricity supply will continue to be provided to all customers in Croatia.
