HEP on top again for the quality of annual report

22.03.2007.
According to a recent research on corporate management and social responsibility in Croatia, HEP is again one of the best assessed companies, after Ericsson Nikola Tesla and Pliva.

The research, conducted for the third time by the Zagreb School of Economics and Management in collaboration with East-West Management Institute, New York, encompassed 43 domestic companies floated on stock exchanges and companies of public importance such as banks or, for example, HEP. The researchers reviewed the websites and annual reports of the companies to assess the quality of investor reporting and the quality of reporting on corporate social responsibility. For both surveys, the researchers put themselves in the position of a potential investor and analyzed publicly available materials to determine whether investor information requirements are satisfied. In the area of reporting on corporate social responsibility HEP is one of the best assessed companies, after Ericsson Nikola Tesla and Pliva and with the same number of points as INA (19 out of 30). Interestingly, HEP won the same number of points as in the previous research when it shared the first place with INA, but over the past year some other companies have made a significant progress.

It must be mentioned, however, that HEP's reporting through Annual Report got 10 out of 15 possible points (one more than last year) which means that the quality of its report is the best in Croatia from the social responsibility aspect. For reporting through the web HEP won 9 out of 15 possible points, one less than in the previous research, thanks to which HEP shares the fifth place on the ranking list of the most successful. Considering that HEP's redesigned web pages have only recently been put on, we can expect a significant progress in the next research and retaking of the place of the overall best company in reporting of social responsibility in Croatia.
