The completion of the reconstruction of the 400/110 kV Ernestinovo substation in early June 2004 and the construction of a new 400/120 kV Pecs substation created the conditions for the implementation of a new power interconnection between Hungary and Croatia. In the international competitive tendering for a section of the transmission line from Ernestinovo to the state border, the company Dalekovod d.d., Zagreb was selected. This section will be 44.1 km in length and 2,200 MWA in transmission capacity. The total construction costs on the Croatian side and the equipping of 400 kV line bays in Ernestinovo substation are 159 million kuna. The time for the completion of the Contract is 700 days from the beginning of the work by the contractor, or the end of 2009.
