3Smart – 2nd Pilot Study Visit to the Croatian Pilot (HEP and UNIZGFER building)

15.07.2019.
At the HEP headquarter building in Zagreb, on July 2, 2019, a meeting was held with all stakeholders of the 3Smart project within 2nd Pilot Study Visit to the Croatian Pilot.

The topic of the meeting was the installation of modules for smart building and network management, with representatives of HEP d.d., HEP ODS Ltd., HEP ESCO Ltd., Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing of the University of Zagreb (FER) and members of the team from Austria, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Slovenia.

The HEP's old administrative building in Zagreb is a pilot building within 3Smart project. The goal is to synchronize management of heating and cooling energy as well as the management of a micro grid (photovoltaic and battery system). In charge for development of micro grid management as well as its connection to the distribution grid is HEP ODS Ltd and UNIZGFER.

Within the project, a battery system with capacity of 32 kWh and a power inverter of 10 kW was installed. Upon that, a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system was installed. The building is fully equipped with automatic control of heating and cooling systems. Within the above mentioned SCADA system heating station, cooling station and photovoltaic power plant (only production of electricity is monitored as the power plant in feed in tariff) was integrated. The advanced database required for deployment of the 3Smart system has been completed and is expected to be installed and tested for smart management modules by the end of 2019.
