On Wednesday, September 10, 2008, head of Međimurje County, Josip Posavec, director of HEP ESCO, Gordana Lučić, and Ivan Vinković, director of Međimurje Nekretnine, signed Project Implementation Contract.

The energy efficiency project for schools in the Međumurje County is worth 3.5 million kuna. After the project is completed, the energy cost in County’s school buildings will be reduced by more than 130,000 kuna a year.

The project will be implemented on ESCO model where HEP ESCO ensures project preparation and implementation and the financing for the energy efficiency portion of the project.

The works to modernize the heating system and electricity consumption system, depending on school, will include the installation of thermostatic valves in radiators, reconstruction of boiler plants, reconstruction of lighting and installation of reactive energy compensator.

The project will be implemented during 2009. After the project is completed, the schools will have modern equipment and improved heating and lighting systems while costs of their use will be lower.
