The Energy Efficiency Project for Public Lighting implemented by HEP ESCO in the city of Jastrebarsko was worth five million kuna. Jastrebarsko thus became the first city in the County to have ecological public lighting.
The modernization included 1,600 lighting fixtures: old mercury light bulbs were replaced with new sodium light bulbs. Energy savings and ecological light bulbs that consume less energy now give the city more quantity of light. New downward facing ecological lamps which were also installed improve traffic security and do not cause light pollution.
The implementation of the entire Project to reconstruct the public lighting in Jastrebarsko resulted in savings of as much as 230 thousand kuna a year.
The total investment will pay back in just eight years, and the benefits of the Project such as lower maintenance costs, lower energy costs and improved lighting will be of use to Jastrebarsko for many years.
