In the public lighting of the City of Solin HEP ESCO executed an Energy Efficiency Project worth 2.6 million kuna. The modernization of the public lighting encompassed almost the whole area of the city of Solin. The state-of-the –art equipment of prime quality replaced the obsolete and inefficient system.

The benefits of the Modernization Project for the City of Solin are multiple. Lower energy costs, reduced burden on the infrastructure due to lower installed capacity and lower maintenance costs bring to the City savings of as much as 315,000.00 kuna a year.

The standard mercury bulbs were replaced with the new sodium light bulbs and the jointly selected dimming light fixtures made up the new ecological lighting system of the city.

The total investment in the Energy Efficiency Project in the public lighting will be paid back to the City of Solin in a little more than  8 years while the beneficial effects of the Project will be recognizable over a long term.

The modernization encompassed 1,024 lamps and the works included the replacing of old mercury light bulbs and lamps with the modern sodium ones of lower power and improved characteristics as well as installing of the controls on all two-bulb lamps, based on sodium.
