Alstom Hrvatska d.o.o. is a part of an international corporation which provides support to the world’s leading engineering centers and manufactures parts for motors and turbines, pumps, compressors, tool machines, etc. Alstom undertook the project with HEP ESCO in order to improve its business operations, modernize the equipment and reduce environmental pollution. The financing for the project in the amount of 420,000 kuna was secured by HEP ESCO.
The cooling system of one of the factory’s machines was reconstructed. The cooling water had previously been used inefficiently. An additional closed-loop cooling device was installed which has significantly reduced water consumption.
The final objective of the project is to reduce water costs and protect the environment. The repayment of the investment is made through savings achieved and an estimated savings of 125,000 kuna a year will repay the investment in less than 3.5 years. Such an approach frees Alstom from any risk relating to investment repayment if savings are not achieved.
