Instructions
The important parts of your in-house gas installation are: gas pressure regulator, gas meter and stop valve. Gas from the city's network through the service connection comes to the pressure regulator where its pressure is reduced. Before the regulator is a stop valve which is used to turn off gas flow into the in-house installation. From the regulator gas flows to the gas meter and therefrom through an in-house distribution piping to appliances. In front of each appliance there must be a stop valve. The point of delivery for the in-house installation is the point of connection with the city's distribution gas pipeline.
In case of supply interruption in the city's gas network, your pressure regulator will automatically shut off gas inflow. This prevents the possibility of uncontrolled gas flow after gas supply is restored in the city's network.
The fitting and commissioning of the gas installation and appliances may be carried out only by licensed gas fitters, together with appropriate service staff of appliance manufacturers. The customer must ask the service technician for information on how a particular appliance is operated and maintained, and is obligated to follow the manufacturer's instructions when using the appliance.
Before any appliance is connected with the chimney, the chimney must be checked and cleaned by the person in charge who issues a certificate to that effect. The chimney must be regularly cleaned and checked so it does not get obstructed.
All gas appliances must have an ignition safety valve which prevents outflow of non-burning gas due to mishandling or interruption or restoration of gas supply. If you notice any fault on your gas installations, you must immediately turn off the gas valve which is located in front of the regulator so that gas is not released into rooms. The valve must remain shut off until fault is rectified by licensed staff.
Customers are advised to turn off all gas appliances in the bedroom before going to sleep by turning off stop valves. It is strictly forbidden to leave, while sleeping, any appliance on which is not connected to the chimney! If going away for more than one day, the customer is obligated to turn off stop valves as well as the main stop valve located in front of the pressure regulator.
After returning, the customer must make sure there is no gas in the home before turning on any appliance, switching on any electric device, lighting a cigarette or the like. Also, closed rooms must be aired after a gas appliance not connected to the chimney has been used for a while. It is forbidden to connect earthing or other wiring to gas installations or placing any objects thereon. You are obligated to notify the gas distributor of any subsequently connected gas appliance by submitting a special form. Subsequent connection of appliances may be carried out only by licensed gas fitters and service technicians.
