    Electricity market

The Croatian electricity market is regulated by the Energy Act, the Act on Amendments to the Energy Act and the Electricity Market Act, and numerous pieces of subordinate legislation. The fundamental principles of the rules and regulations is that customers are free to choose their electricity supplier from which they will purchase electricity and with which they will contract for electricity supply.

The electricity market in Croatia fully opened on July 1, 2008, meaning that all customers have had the legal right since then to choose their electricity supplier.
