Maintenance, construction and development

In order to satisfy transmission requirements of network users continuously and with high quality and to ensure high reliability of the power system and availability of the transmission network, the network needs to be continuously maintained in accordance with the prescribed standards and developed, built and extended to meet increasing electricity volumes.

Within HEP-OPS, the functions of maintenance, operation, development and construction of the transmission network are performed by the organizational units of Development, Investment and Construction Department and the transmission areas of Osijek, Rijeka, Split and Zagreb.

The maintenance of the transmission network includes maintenance of overhead lines and underground cables, primary and secondary equipment, auxiliary plants, telecommnications equipment and building structures in substations and switchyards.

Development means preparation of analyses,  studies and plans for construction of the transmission network and construction means preparation and implementation of construction of transmission plants and facilities.
