This year’s, thirteenth consecutive, Hrvoje Požar Foundation Award ceremony was held on July 5 at the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in the presence of numerous invitees.
The awards to this year’s winners were again presented by Goran Granić, President of Croatian Energy Society and President of Central Board of Hrvoje Požar Foundation. The award for professional and scientific contribution in the field of energy was given to Prof. Ivan Zulim from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture Split; the winner of the award for an implemented project of efficient energy management entitled “Programs for savings and efficient use of electricity” went to Istraturist Umag; and to DOOR – Organization for Sustainable Development Design Zagreb for popularization of energy-related issues. For excellent grades in undergraduate energy studies, this year’s certificate and a money prize of 2,500 kuna went to Darjan Bošnjak, Adrijana Čolak, Hrvoje Pandžić and Ivan Rajša from the Zagreb’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, and to Boris Majcen from the Zagreb’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture; for outstanding graduation thesis in the field of energy the award went to Jerko Bogavčić (Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology), Krešimir Fekete (Electrical Engineering Faculty Osijek) and Slavica Robić (Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing Zagreb).
At the end, scholarships in the amount of 1,200 kuna were granted to Matea Jeličić from the Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering Zagreb and Marin Matijaš from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing Zagreb. In his address on this occasion G. Granić remembered again the scientist and academician Hrvoje Požar, whose scientific work is given further recognition by presenting these annual awards that are named after him. On behalf of all award winners Prof. Ivan Zulim thanked the Foundations.
