Zagreb

In the City of Zagreb, HEP ESCO has implemented phase one of an energy efficiency pilot project related to public lighting. The total value of phase one of the project is 3.5 million kuna.
The modernization comprised two transportation routes, Avenija Dubrovnik with high savings potential, and so-called "Zeleni val" which was an architectural challenge, too.

The strategic significance of this combination is that great savings achieved in the lighting of Avenija Dubrovnik secured additional financial resources necessary for the complex lighting of Zeleni val.

Since Zeleni val is a part of the Old Town, special attention was paid to the selection of  new lighting fixtures that would visually blend in the ambient. The implemented lighting met all standards of protection of this historically and architecturally valuable nucleus of the city.

On Avenija Dubrovnik, new, modern, dimmed light bulbs were installed which met all lighting requirements of the capital city. A significant reduction in light pollution has been achieved as a result.
For Zagreb, there are multiple benefits from the implementation of the modernization project. Lower energy costs, reduced load on the infrastructure due to reduced installed capacity and lower maintenance costs make it possible for the city to save as much as 590 thousand kuna a year.

In addition to great savings and excellent infrastructure, with this project Zagreb has gotten an increased traffic safety, a much more beautiful view of the city and a preserved environment.
