The energy efficiency project on the public lighting system of the town of Duga Resa was completed in March 2011. The HRK 1.8 mn worth project will achieve financial savings for the town and its surrounding area in the annual amount of HRK 144,000.
The project was prepared by screening the entire public lighting system of the town of Duga Resa which would provide for easier maintenance and deficiency elimination on the town lighting system.
Under the project, 697 new lamps were installed, of which 671 were street lights and the remaining 26 ambient ones. Total of 83 street lights were not installed as a replacement but placed as a part of the project along the more important roads to increase illumination.
The new public lighting system provides the town of Duga Resa with significant savings as a result of energy and maintenance cost savings. Improved public lighting quality contributes to not only biological divesity but also to the protection of the night sky on the wider town area.
