The modernization of school premises, the creation of conditions for a higher quality and more comfort in the teaching process is what students and teachers from all schools in Croatia desire.
HEP ESCO has recognized this need and prepared a comprehensive package of services within the project of modernization of school buildings.
The first successful cooperation on such a project was realized with the town of Karlovac. The pilot project, implemented in five elementary schools in Karlovac, focused on the modernization of lighting systems in the schools.
Within the energy efficiency project, the old wasteful light bulbs were replaced with new economical high-quality bulbs. In addition, fluorescent bulbs with pre-connection devices which reduce wasting of light energy were installed.
By reducing unnecessary energy costs, the schools have achieved savings of as much as 35 thousand kuna a year.
After the successfully implemented project worth 200 thousand kuna, the schools showed an interest in further modernization of the infrastructure.
The cooperation continued and phase two of the project involving additional savings measures was carried out.
The goal of the energy efficiency project in schools is to use electricity efficiently, reduce maintenance costs, make environmental protection more efficient and, of course, to improve the quality of spaces used daily by teachers and students.
